Irfan Salim
President and Chief Executive Officer

Irfan brings to MarkMonitor more than 20 years of experience growing and leading world-class Internet security, fraud prevention, and domain registrar companies. Prior to MarkMonitor, he was president and chief operating officer of Internet security company Zone Labs, which was acquired by Check Point Technologies. Earlier, Irfan was president and CEO of NameSecure.com, an Internet domain name registrar and services company. Irfan has also held positions including president of US and European operations at TrendMicro; president and CEO at desktop publishing and presentation software company Software Publishing Corporation; and vice president and general manager of the Spreadsheet Division at Lotus Development. Prior to Lotus, Irfan spent 7 years with Texas Instruments. He holds an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London, and an M.B.A. from Manchester Business School, England.

Charlie Abrahams
Vice President and General Manager, EMEA

Charlie Abrahams is a recognized and energetic executive with an established record of creating a strong European presence for leading global technology companies. His experience includes re-building and running the EMEA organization for Network General Corporation after its divesture from Network Associates, during which he grew the organization’s revenue significantly. Previously, he was hired by Plumtree Software (later acquired by BEA) to create the European business from scratch, signing on Global 100 customers and adding consulting services. Abraham’s prior experience also includes executive positions at Amdahl Corporation, IBM and Burroughs Machines. Based in London, Abrahams has a Master’s degree with honours in economics and sociology from Cambridge University and held a scholarship to King Edward’s School in Birmingham.

David Batista
Senior Vice President, Sales

David Batista brings nearly 30 years of experience to MarkMonitor, with an extensive background in technology and enterprise sales. Batista oversees MarkMonitor sales directing the Sales teams and developing MarkMonitor’s sales strategies. He was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Skybox Security, the security risk management company, which was named one of Inc. magazine’s Top 100 fastest growing companies during his tenure. Prior to Skybox, Batista served as the vice president of enterprise Sales and Services for Zone Labs, leading up to its acquisition by Check Point Technologies. He has also held sales leadership positions and significantly contributed to growing revenues at Arcot Systems, Gateway, Lexis-Nexis Inc., Novell Inc. and IBM. Batista holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.

Paul Dagum
Chief Technology Officer

Paul Dagum brings to MarkMonitor more than 20 years of experience in technical leadership and management. Prior to MarkMonitor, Paul served as chief scientist and strategy officer of Business.com, which was acquired by R. H. Donnelly. At Business.com, he oversaw technology strategy, innovation, design and development. Before joining Business.com, Paul was at Mohr Davidow Ventures where he evaluated high-impact business opportunities in Internet technology and medical devices. His previous experience includes co-founding and serving as chief science officer at Rapt, which was later acquired by Microsoft, as well as serving as a principal investigator at Stanford University on several National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health grants. He has held several senior scientist positions and has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in statistics, computer science and biotechnology journals. Paul received a Ph.D. in theoretical computer science from the University of Toronto and an M.D. from Stanford University.

Frederick Felman
Chief Marketing Officer

Frederick Felman’s career in marketing enterprise and security technology and services spans 25 years. At MarkMonitor, he is responsible for defining and promoting the company’s brand protection product offerings. He and his team created the Brandjacking Index®, an often-cited measure of the trends in online abuse targeting the world’s largest brands. As part of the MarkMonitor commitment to securing brands online, Frederick leads advocacy initiatives for brandholders’ rights issues that intersect Internet governance. Before joining MarkMonitor, Frederick was Vice President of Products and Marketing at Zone Labs, which was acquired by Check Point Technologies. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Tom Ryden
Senior Vice President, Finance

Tom Ryden brings more than 20 years of financial experience to MarkMonitor and most recently held the position of vice president of finance and controller. Prior to MarkMonitor, Tom served as the director of finance and controller at SCP Global Technologies Inc. where his responsibilities spanned the financial, legal and IT departments. Earlier in his career, Tom was a manager at Coopers & Lybrand, now Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where he managed audits and internal control engagements of public and private companies in a variety of industries. He was an early implementer of internal control evaluation and reporting with the COSO framework that is now used for compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Tom received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Idaho, and is a certified public accountant.

Trina Schnapp
Vice President, Human Resources

Trina brings over 15 years of HR leadership experience to MarkMonitor, having worked in a variety of industries and companies at various stages of maturity, driving strategies around talent, culture and organizational effectiveness. Prior to MarkMonitor, Trina led the HR strategy function for the emerging west region of Jones Lang LaSalle and Equity Office Properties. She also held previous leadership roles as Head of HR, North America at BBC Technology (a division of the British Broadcasting Company) and Director of HR at OpenTable. Trina holds a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology from San Francisco State University and is an active member in the Society for Human Resources Management.

Ihab Shraim
Chief Security Officer and VP, Network and System Engineering

Ihab has more than 18 years of experience in the Information Technology sector, specializing in the architecture and management of security and network infrastructures, system engineering and operations. Prior to MarkMonitor, he held the position of Senior Director to the Network & Server Operations Center at Digex Web hosting company. He also has experience in managing the security, network infrastructure and servers associated with a number of NASA spacecraft missions at the NASA Goddard Flight Center. Ihab holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University, an Executive Certification in "Strategy and Innovation" from Massachusetts Institute of technology (MIT), and Unix & Network Certifications from George Washington University.

David Silver
Vice President, Business Development

David Silver has over 20 years of experience leading corporate strategy and product innovation in existing markets, as well as expanding into new markets. At MarkMonitor, David provides leadership in directing the company to meet current and next generation market demands. In addition, he is responsible for building key partnerships and alliances focused on extending MarkMonitor's solutions. Prior to MarkMonitor, David was founder and CEO of NetAcumen, Inc., which focused on monitoring and tracking Web behavior data for Fortune 500 corporations; NetAcumen was acquired by Responsys, Inc. He also served as Vice President of Business Development at Sagent Technology, Inc. and Director of Product Management at Andersen Consulting. David holds a combined Bachelor's degree in Mathematics-Computer Science and Sociology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
