Search Engineer

MarkMonitor is seeking a passionate Search Engineer to work as part of a team to design and develop high-scale next generation multi-language search technology.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the candidate will work as part of an elite team to evaluate and implement technology for scalable crawling, indexing and web graph analysis on over 150 countries including CKJ
- Candidate will be responsible for developing systems capable of providing terabyte faceted search retrieval of text and digital images using cluster computing for use in the identification of internet sites that contribute to a one trillion dollar global counterfeit problem
Skills/Qualifications
Background in search engines, internet crawling, information extraction from unstructured data, and Web data mining that includes CKJ languages
- Experience working with terabyte data sets and developing applications using Hadoop/map-reduce
- Minimum 3-5 years of software development experience in Java, C, or C++
- Experience using relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
- Experience in an Agile or XP environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. MS Degree highly preferred
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Intelligent and creative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism and integrity
